Music Bank Episode 1253
KBS’ Music Bank (Episode 1253) started the weekend, Friday, with a great show due to the quantity and quality of the groups performing. First, a lot of groups skipped the Tues and Wed music shows and performed starting Thursday or even Friday. There might be a change in promotion strategy and between what music shows you promote depending on if you’re a nugu group or not. Next, NINA, BADA, and KIOF performed throughout the show. Also, there seems to be a denim theme throughout the show, so watch out for the denim.
Then, USPEER did their last promo of their debut title track “ZOOM”. All seven members stood out due to wearing shirts that said, “We Fast We Furious”. Also, they did an intro dance which was awesome. Yeowon, their leader, stood out for her stage presence. But, this time, Soee, the lead vocalist, stood out a bit more due to them using her pic as the thumbnail, giving her one of the fancams, and for being the last ending fairy, where she gave us only blue steel.
Next, KIIRAS continued their debut promotions and performed their B-side “ZILLER”. All seven members stood out for their US country vibe and their dark blue tops with KIIRAS written on them. Ling Ling, the only Malaysian member and their leader, stood out for her red beanie. But, this time, Kurumi, the only Japanese member and the main vocalist, stood out for being the only one wearing light denim jeans and her stage presence.
Then, VVUP, the four member group that replaced Hyunny, performed their comeback track “Giddy boy”. Kim, the only Indonesian member, stood out due to her being the only one with bangs. Also, Kim stood out with her stage presence.
Next, fromis9, who reformed as five members under a new agency, performed their new five member first comeback track “LIKE YOU BETTER”. They even got an interview with Minju from ILLIT, who’s the co-host. All five stood out due to their experience on Idol School. Chae Young stood out more due to her platinum blonde hair, height, and stage presence. The track stands out for being a rock summer song.
Then, H1-KEY performed their comeback track “Summer was you”. All four members stood out in denim and a white top. At first, Hwiseo stood out more, due to her bob cut and her experience from winning Queendom Puzzle. But then, Riina stood out later due to her stage presence and experience on both Queendom Puzzle and Produce 48. Riina also gave us the first ending fairy, giving us two hands fanning herself and then a tilted head and one hand fanning herself. Also, the track stands out for being a summer rock song.
Next, izna performed their comeback track “BEEP”. Bang Jeemin, their leader, stood out for having a navy blue top and a denim skirt. She didn’t have her bangs today so she didn’t look like Eunchae from Le Sserafim this time. But the more I look at her, she and EunChae could be sisters. Also, she stands out when you watch izna due to her experience on ILAND2 and RU Next. I look forward to the short form video collabs she can do with former contestants from ILAND2 and RU Next (ILLIT and Ling Ling from KIIRAS).
Baby DONT Cry debuted with two tracks, their debut title track “F Girl” and their pre-debut track “Bet you’ll regret it”. They got interviewed by ILLIT’s Minju who’s co-host of Music Bank. They were even on Minju's Pink Cabinet which is the co-host’s variety show where she interviews other idols. In both the show and interviews, Yihyun, their leader, stands out. Also, during both performances Yihyun stood out for her musicality and stage presence. There’s a part where she’s dragged while lying with her bottom half on the floor and she’s still hitting the high notes on her part. Also, she’s the final ending fairy, giving us a pinky in the eye looking up at the falling confetti, a smoky look, then two hands on cheeks with a closed eye smile, then a two handed heart with a wink, and finally a wave.
Finally, speaking of ILLIT, they performed their comeback “Do the dance”. They even got an interview spot even though this is the second week of promotions and they were interviewed last week. Of course Minju, the main vocalist stood out, since she also had to fulfill the role of co-host of Music Bank. So in the interview, she co-hosted the interview as the interviewer and interviewed herself. Also, she was the last ending fairy, giving us cat paws, a cat ear, and a blown kiss. Also, ILLIT won first place on Music Bank!
