Music Bank - Episode 1258
KBS’ Music Bank (Episode 1258) started off the weekend, Friday, with one of the better music shows of the year due to the quantity and quality of the performances that were shown. With Wednesday’s and Thursday’s music shows being recap shows w/o live performances, Music Bank stepped into the gap and knocked it out of the park. It does seem like a new strategy was set for 2025. First, drop music on Monday as usual. Next, skip Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s music shows. Then with Thursday’s music show paused, promote for two weeks while still skipping Tuesday and Wednesday. Finally, in the third week, comeback on Tuesday and Wednesday. ICHILLIN is trying this strategy. ICHILLIN released music on Thursday July 31, 2025 and didn’t perform until today’s Aug 1, 2025 Music Bank.
Speaking of ICHILLIN, they performed their comeback “XL (Extra Love)”. They also got an interview and they were a bit nervous due to the fact that this was their first performance of their comeback. Despite that, E.Ji, their leader, shined in an all black outfit with red highlights. She also shined due to her dance performance, musicality, and they also used E.Ji’s pic as the thumbnail. Finally, she was the last ending fairy, giving us two X’s by her face, then two L’s, and then double cat claws with a smile and a little scrunched face.
Next, SAYMYNAME performed their comeback “ILY”. They dropped music on Friday, right before the show, and then performed on Music Bank. They also got an interview but looked a little nervous, especially Shuie, the new Chinese member who just joined a month ago. Mei, one of two Japanese members, shined more with her chestnut blonde hair and stage presence. Mei was one of the contestants on “Dream Academy” and her experience on that show shined here. Also, Hitomi, the leader, former IZONE member, and other Japanese member, shined too. Her facial performance stood out. Also, they used her pic as the thumbnail, and she was the final ending fairy, giving us a spelled out “I love u”, a little bicycle pedal, and puffed out cheeks.
Finally, STAYC performed their comeback “I Want It”. All the members shined in this first performance of their second week of promotions. But J, the maknae, shined a bit more due to her facial expressions. She was also the final ending fairy, giving us a cheek heart, a cute puffed out cheek facial expression, and then a final ending laugh. Stan STAYC!
