M Countdown - Episode 901

Mnet’s M Countdown (Episode 901) started off the early weekend, Thursday, with one of the best music shows of the year due to the amount and quality of performances. Also, the Wednesday music show was cancelled, so M Count had to fill both roles, as the mid-week spice and the early weekend appetizer. M Count achieved this and went beyond.

First, Young Posse, Yuju, Somi, and Yena performed throughout the show. They all shined, but I’d like to focus on three special performances.

Next, ATHEART performed their long awaited debut title track “Plot Twist”. They dropped their pre-debut track “Good Girl (AtHeart)” on Mar 14, 2025, so we’ve been waiting for almost six months for their debut. They even did a special M2 performance of their pre-debut track. They dropped this mv on Wednesday Aug 13, 2025 and didn’t perform their first music show until today’s Thursday M Count. Interesting strategy and I hope it works. For this performance of “Plot Twist”, Michi, the only Japanese-American, shined more due to being the tallest. Also, she had over six silver bobby pins in her hair which made her shine. Also, Michi was the first ending fairy (3:06) and gave us a wave with a smile. STAN ATHEART!

Then, SAYMYNAME performed their comeback “ILy”. Mei, one out of the two Japanese members, shined more due to her being the only one with blonde hair. Her experience on the show “Dream Academy” also shined through. The show formed the girl group Katseye, but Mei was cut but learned alot. Lastly, they used Mei’s pic as the thumbnail. STAN SAYMYNAME!

Finally, KiiiKiii performed their comeback “Dancing Alone”. They dropped this song on Thursday, Aug 7, 2025. So this is a new strategy and it might work due to the good reception of the song. Leesol, the main rapper, shined more due to being the only one wearing denim shorts. Also, she was the final ending fairy, giving us a wave and a smile. STAN KIIIKIII!
