Inkigayo Episode 1274
SBS’ Inkigayo (Episode 1274) finished off the weekend, Sunday, with one of the best shows of the year based on the quantity and the quality of the groups that performed. But, there’s a new strategy for groups and soloists. First, they’ll drop music on Monday, but skip Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s music shows. Then, they’ll go on Thursday’s and Friday’s music shows. There was no Saturday music show, so there was a log jam on Sunday’s Inkigayo. It looks as though Rescene did Thursday and Friday, but were bumped on Sunday’s Inkigayo by Blingone or BABYMONSTER.
First, BABYMONSTER, who’s missing Rami due to health reasons, performed their comeback “HOT SAUCE” for the first time on a music show. It might be YG’s strategy: dropping music on Monday, but not performing until Sunday’s Inkigayo. Ahyeon, the main vocal, stood out for her vocal performance and for being the first ending fairy, giving us a swipe of her hair, a swipe of her lips, a peace sign, and a head tilt.
Next, Baby DONT Cry continued their debut promotions and performed “F Girl”. They’re sticking with not performing on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s music shows seeing as this is their second week of promotions. Yihyun, their leader, stood out due to a black veil that she wore. And she pulls off a move where she sits and is dragged across the stage.
Then, H1-Key performed their comeback “Summer Was You”. H1-Key are the only ones that are on the conservative strategy and go on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s music shows, and the rest of the week. Also, they begin their performance by running around which makes them all stand out. However, Hwiseo, stands out a bit more, with her short bob cut, her pic used as the thumbnail, and being the first ending fairy, giving us a check of the sky if there is rain, a wave of both hands as if the sun comes out, then a finger heart using both hands, and finally a clap. Her winning Queendom Puzzle really shines through in her performances.
Next, fromis_9 performed their comeback “LIKE YOU BETTER”. Opposed to H1-Key, fromis_9 has skipped the Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s music shows. So, in the second week of promotions, this is only their seventh performance. Nakyoung, who is the shortest, stood out since they used her pic as the thumbnail, and she was the first ending fairy, giving us a big hug and inviting her team to come together and do a big group hug.
Then, LE SSERAFIM performed their Japanese track “DIFFERENT” but the English version. All the members stood out, and the thumbnail showed all the members creating a star with their arms. Since Chaewon, their leader, was in the center, she stood out a bit more.
Next, ILLIT, LS’ younger sisters, performed their comeback “Do the Dance”. They also had all five members pic on the thumbnail. But, Minju, the main vocalist, stood out a bit more since she was in the middle. Hopefully, they’ll continue promotions and all the members will stand out.
Finally, Aespa continued their comeback and performed “Dirty Work”. They have only promoted the Thursday - Sunday music shows and it seems to be working. Karina, their main visual and the one who they used as the thumbnail, stood out the most. Also, Aespa won first place!
